Apple Results Cause a Stir

21 10 2009

Much excitement in the Apple results this week. Particularly when reading TechCrunch’s forensic analysis of what lies behind the big numbers that are wowing analysts. Typically Apple under-forecasts on results but the consensus is that these figures are truly surprising given its product price points and the global recession.

I have an obvious personal interest in the hidden news nugget about how half a billion apps were sold in the last three months alone. With this type of momentum I wonder what kind of milestones will have been passed in a year’s time after the iPhone is officially sold in China.

And all of the attendant rumours about secret products remind me that Apple can’t resist a dig at the “Old Enemy” given that this is supposed to be Windows 7 Week.
